Walt Disney Breakfast Book Club

This Book Club is for students in grades 1 through 5.  The goal of the club is to foster and develop a love of reading for each member.  The members will receive and read a book each month, then discuss the book at the next meeting.  These discussions will involve each member within the group and will be led by parent volunteers.  This is an exciting opportunity for children to experience the magic of reading with students in their own grade level!

Students meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:50 a.m. in the multi-use room and have breakfast together.  The children will then break into grade-level groups to discuss the book they read for the month.   At the close of the meeting they will receive books for the next month.  Students will be adjourned by 8:35, right before class begins at 8:40 (new bell schedule).

The club will begin November 4, 2009.  The membership dues are $55.00 per student.  This fee covers the costs of 8 breakfasts, 8 books (1 per month) and an official Breakfast Book Club 2009 t-shirt!  We will hand out the first book in mid-October to discuss during the November 4th meeting.  Please fill out the form below and return it to your student’s teacher by September 18th.
